Exodus 25:16 - The Testimony (Ten Commandments): an overview and schematic layout.

PLEASE SEE UPDATED AND COMPLETE VERSION HERE

As you well know, the Ark of The Covenant housed Two Stone Tablets with the Ten Commandments written upon them. Each Tablet had all 10 Commandments written upon it - 5 on its front and 5 on its back. Like so:

Here is the schematic layout of all of the Ten Commandments. The table is self explanatory, but I will comment on it in much more details in my next posts. Enjoy !

Here is the brief explanation to this table:
  1. Two Tablets corresponded to Two human Hands.
  2. 10 Commandments corresponded to 10 fingers.
  3. Each pair of the 10 Commandments corresponded to one of the 5 mandatory Holidays.
  4. Each pair of the 10 Commandments corresponded to each other. I.e Idolatry vs Adultery e.t.c
  5. Each of the 10 Commandments corresponded to each of the 10 plagues.
  6. Corresponding Holiday signified the reward for keeping the Commandment.
  7. Corresponding Plague signified the punishment for violating the Commandment.
  8. Order of the Commandments signified their priority. I.e, it would be ok to violate the Sabbath (Commandment #4) in order to save a human life from immediate and obvious danger(Commandment #1), e.t.c
  9. Order of the Holidays also signified their priority. I.e Numbers 9:6-10.
