Is the temple supposed to be rebuilt according to the law? Will the temple be constructed and that will cause the restoration of Israel, or will the restoration of Israel cause the reconstruction of the temple, or does the Torah say something different entirely?
The Torah tells us in Leviticus 26:11 that the blessing of being in the land is that the Tabernacle (mishkan), also known as the "tent of meeting", will be given in the midst of obedient Israel. This is accordance with the location that we are commanded to do the rituals at throughout the commands, the commanded holy place of the Torah (Exodus 25:8, etc).
We want to reevaluate these prophets that have told us that we should no longer do the commands as they were given, and we want to reevaluate prophets that want us to expect something that does not align with the Torah.
