Simple Unleavened Bread recipe

Here is the super simple recipe for the real Unleavened Bread the Written Torah speaks about.

You will need 4 Cups of Whole Wheat Flour, 2-3 Cups of Water and a Teaspoon of Olive Oil.

  1. Put 4 Cups of flour in a bowl and add 2 Cups of water.
  2. Start kneading the dough in the bowl until it stops sticking to the fingers. You may have to add more water if the dough is too dry or more flour if the dough too wet and sticks to fingers.
  3. Once the dough stops sticking to fingers, you have to continue kneading it.
  4. Knead the dough until you see whitish substance on the dough. It is gluten that we must have so that the bread does not come out as a brick. Keep kneading the dough until it is slippery and has spots of gluten (white substance).
  5. Shape the resulting dough in a loaf
  6. Use a Tablespoon of olive oil to cover the dough in oil. DO NOT KNEAD THE DOUGH or the oil will get into the bread. We only need the oil to soften the crust.
  7. Put the oiled dough into a baking form.
  8. Put in the oven for 1 and 1/2 hour @ F 350 degrees.
  9. Once it is done, take it out and wrap it in a towel (one thin layer). This will help to cool and dry the dough.
  10. Enjoy your bread!
Please note that gluten alone is not enough to make the bread soft. This means that the resulting bread will be very dense. This is normal and this is how it should be.

REMEMBER: THE MORE YOU KNEAD, THE BETTER THE BREAD WILL BE !!! So knead for at least 5-10 minutes.
