Exodus 26:33 - The Clasps and Partitioning of the Tent of The Tabernacle - Part 3

Lets' re-read Exodus 26:10-11...

10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling,

Notice, that the loops were ON THE EDGE (עַ֣ל שְׂפַ֤ת )

There were fifty loops on the edge of one piece of the Second Covering...

10 and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.
The loops here were also ON THE EDGE (עַ֚ל שְׂפַ֣ת ) of the piece of the covering...

Also fifty loops...

The similar approach was used to calculate the spacing between the loops and the spacing for the loops.
Each piece of the covering was 30 cubits in length and there were 50 loops. Therefore, there were 49 segments between the loops. By dividing 30 cubits/49 segments = ~0.6122 cubits per segment.

Now we have to take closest rational and (in this case) convenient(?) number, which is also going to be 0.5 cubits.

By multiplying 0.5 cubits * 49 segments = 24.5 cubits for all segments between the loops. But since the length of the covering was 30 cubits, 30-24.5=5.5 cubits is remaining for the loops. By dividing 5.5 cubits/50 loops = 0.11 cubits per each loop.

Just like I pointed out in my previous post, this approach is not purely mathematical and further justification for such positioning of the loops is needed.

11 And thou shalt make fifty taches of brass,

Each bronze(copper) clasp was 0.11 cubits in diameter, with 0.11/1.5 = 0.73 cubits diameter in the middle.

And here you can compare the Golden Clasp of the First Covering with the Bronze Clasp of the Second Covering. As you can see, the Golden Clasp was smaller( this makes sense). Both clasps were relatively small compared to a hand.

11 and put the taches into the loops,

First, clasps were put into the loops on one piece of the covering...

11 and couple the tent together, that it may be one.

And then the loops of the other piece of the covering were connected to make one covering...

And here is all of the loops and clasps connected...

Making one nice Second Covering of the Tent of The Mishkan...
