Numbers 4:13-14 - Transportation of the Altar Of Burnt Offering and The Laver

The last two artefacts of The Tabernacle, the Altar of Burnt Offering and The Copper Laver (Kiyor), were covered and transported together. Let's take a look:

Numbers 4:13-14
13 And they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth thereon:

14 And they shall put upon it all the vessels thereof, wherewith they minister about it, even the censers, the fleshhooks, and the shovels, and the basons, all the vessels of the altar; and they shall spread upon it a covering of badgers' skins, and put to the staves of it.

Once the Ark of The Covenant, The Table of Shewbread, The Golden Lampstand, The Altar of Incense and the Utensils of The Sanctuary were covered, the Mishkan looked like this:

Therefore, when it was the time to cover and prepare the Altar of Burnt Offering and the Copper Laver for transportation, the procedure would begin by cleaning the Altar and disposing of the water in the Laver.

After the Altar was cleaned, the Ramp(if there was one) and all of its Utensils were removed, so that both artefacts were ready to be covered.

The Altar of Burnt Offering without its Staves and Utensils looked like this; note, that the Altars' Grate was not removed.

As the description states, the First Covering of the Altar Of Burnt Offering was The Purple Cloth. It was probably somewhere around 20x20 cubits and it was spread over the Altar on the inside and outside, like so:

As the description further states, all of the Copper Utensils, INCLUDING the Copper Laver and its Copper Foot, were placed inside the covered Altar like this:

And as the description states, the Second Covering of the Altar Of Burnt Offering was the Tachash Skins Covering, that was spread over the First Covering of the Altar, completely covering it and all of the Utensils, like so:

Just like with the rest of the artefacts, both Altars' coverings were fitted and adjusted, especially on the sides where the Staves would go...

And last, but not least, the Copper Plated Staves of the Altar were inserted into its four(4) Copper Rings, so that it could be carried.

Here is a view from another angle upon the completely covered Altar Of Burnt Offering, with all of its Copper Utensils and Coper Laver and its Copper foot inside of it.

And here is the view from the top upon the entire Mishkan, with all of its artefacts covered and ready to be transported.

When the Covered Altar of Burnt Offering was carried by four(4) Kohathites, it would look like this:
