About Astrology vs. Astronomy

I wanted to comment on what Written Torah says about Astrology and Astronomy.

Let's take a look:
YLT Gn 1:14 And God saith,  'Let luminaries be in the expanse of the heavens, to make a separation between the day and the night, then they have been for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years,
As you can see, the Sun and the Moon and the stars (Gen 1:16) to define, aside from all other things, the signs. This means that everything we see in the Heavens is a reflection of what is going on here on Earth. This means that it is possible to tell what is going on just by looking at the Sun, Moon and the stars.

Secondly, I want to point out the difference between Astrology and Astronomy...

Basically, Astrology is a parent of Astronomy. Astrology was an early attempt of humans to understand what is going on in the heavens. However, please note that what we know as Astrology today is a complete nonsense and made up crap. Astronomy, on the other hand, is a legitimate natural science, that is indeed the correct way to tell what is going on above.

There is currently a gap. Astronomy, being a science, does not pay attention to God and to linking events in the sky to those on Earth. And Astrology is a complete nonsense because it is not currently backed up by any legitimate science.

So if at some point, these two disciplines converge and take a benefit from each other, we would get a science that is indeed what God explains in Genesis 1:14-16. Basically, if you want to read the signs in the heavens to understand the events here on Earth, you have to put a legitimate science (Astronomy) behind the explanations (Astrology). Only together, these two disciplines will make sense.

Solar Eclipse is a good example of Sun-Moon "signs". Movements of the Stars and other bodies in the Universe also give us legitimate signs. The key is to deciphering it, which was never done before, by combining Astrology and Astronomy together.

Please note, that it is prohibited to predict the future or do any type of magic/occult based on the Sun/Moon/Stars. See Leviticus 20:27 or Deuteronomy 18:9-12.

I hope now you understand the difference between Astrology and Astronomy. Perhaps one day we will see convergence of these two disciplines into one useful and rational science.
