Happy Day of Atonement! Happy Yom Kippur!

Dear readers,

I wanted to wish you easy and restful Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement).

As I have stated on my blog numerous times, correct date of Yom Kippur is the 8th of the 7th lunar month, not 10th of the 7th lunar month. This means that Yom Kippur begins tonight at sunset, 09/27/2017.

Torah only commands us to humble our souls, which means that people who can't fast should do something else, like not to watch TV or have any entertainment on this day. Obviously, infants should also eat and drink as they can't be without food and water.

YLT Lv 16:31 it is to you a sabbath of rest, and ye have humbled yourselves--a statute age-during.

So, as you can see, we are commanded to rest on Yom Kippur, which means that our humbling of the soul must not be too harsh so that we can rest and enjoy our Shabbat. Yom Kippur is the Shabbat obviously.

I will post Yom Kippur Moon pictures for comparison in a few days so that you could judge by yourself.

Once again, have an easy and restful Yom Kippur and may all your sins be absolved from your souls!
